The profile of each blend comes only from the plants themselves. If a tea tastes like hibiscus, it's because there's hibiscus in it.
Based in the mountains of Southern Appalachia, Oconee Tea is a small-scale operation dedicated to high-quality, loose-leaf tea blends. Ingredients are 100% organic. There are no flavorings, oils, or synthetic additives.
Loose-leaf tea means whole leaves, flowers, roots, and seeds, measured out by the spoon rather than ground into a bag. It steeps cleaner, and most of our blends will steep more than once.
Every ingredient is certified organic and responsibly sourced.
How to brew
One spoon of leaf, hot water, a few minutes.
That's the whole method. Loose leaf needs two things a tea bag doesn't: something to hold the leaves, and the right water temperature.

Measure
One heaping teaspoon per 8 oz of water. For fluffy blends like Flora and Solstice, a rounded tablespoon.

Heat
A full boil for everything except Nepali Green Pearl, which wants 175°F — boil, then wait about two minutes.
3
Steep, then lift it out
Two to ten minutes depending on the tea. Leaving the infuser in is what makes a cup bitter.
